One of those rare moments where science and art combine to create
something unique.
Created with Kevin Hill from BBC Design and filmed at Artem's studios in London, the 'ball of light' involved a day in the dark playing with alchemy and ancient mechanical devices. The globe is in fact a collection of gossamer-fine trails of fire, captured digitally using the 10-camera rig. Careful interpolation by Dan and post-production by Tim resulted in a 360-degree, 3-D sphere of light.
