Amber
An interesting project for Otter Films.
We had to create a sequence where a tadpole falls from a Bromeliad and becomes captured in amber, and we also had to create a sequence where we travel around David Attenborough's hand and into some amber.
Naturally we used the 'Insect' rig to give us 144-frame 360-degree circular shots of frozen moments captured with our high-speed flash. The sequences were then interpolated up to length by Dan Julian, about 300 frames using our in-house software.
Compositing and post were done in Bristol at Red 3 by Sue Land.
The program went on air in February 2004 on BBC Natural World.
